On Sunday, 30th July, our supporters, Toby and Andy are setting off on an intense fundraising challenge which will see them cycle an epic 1,500 miles from Chester to Murcia in Spain in aid of Forever Hounds Trust, and Galgos del Sol, a similar charity in Spain.
The brainchild of Toby Boram, a long-term supporter of Forever Hounds Trust, the UK2Spain challenge was spotted on social media by Andy Preston who promptly volunteered to join as cycling team mate. Don’t miss the chance to cheer on Toby and Andy live on the UK leg of their mad-cap adventure:
- 30th July, 9am: The challenge is leaving from Vets4Pets, Brook Lane, Chester; the boys hope to be away by 9.45 at the latest. Light refreshments and UK2Spain merchandise / memorabilia will be available at the start line.
- 30th July, 3-6pm: The Yew Tree Inn, Peterstow, Herefordshire; supporters and cheerers are meeting for a late afternoon walk around the pub’s cider orchards, followed by a delicious veggie BBQ, while we wait to celebrate the boys as they ride in at the end of their first day (expected arrival around 6pm). - 31st July, midday: Meeting point and stand outside Waitrose in Portishead where Toby and Andy will stop by on their second day in the saddles.
- 31st July, 3.30pm/4pm: Alice Park, Bath; a chance to explore the park while we get ready to cheer on the chaps as they stop by on their second day. Find out more
Come and cheer on Toby and Andy to send them off with a boost on their 2-week long challenge! It’s all for the hounds!
Rachel Grocott, CEO of Forever Hounds Trust, said: “We are delighted that Toby and Andy have chosen Forever Hounds Trust to benefit from their fundraising challenge, and we wish them all the best on this epic adventure.”
Toby and Andy aim to raise at least £5,000, which will be split between the two charities. A fundraising page has been set up, and donations can be made there.
