About Bear

Beautiful Bear is a 6-year-old, medium-sized lurcher boy, looking for a new family due to a change in circumstances at home. He is a much-loved family member, but his current owner has reluctantly made the decision to rehome Bear, with his best interests in mind. Bear is an affectionate, loving and laid back boy. He loves to snooze for most of the day, although he does enjoy long walks and needs a decent amount of exercise. Bear is currently living with another dog and could share his home again, but his mum feels that if he had the choice, he would prefer to be the centre of attention in his new home! Bear may be able to live with older children, pending introductions. He is not cat friendly and has a high prey drive for wildlife too! Bear is sociable with most other dogs, and has loads of doggie friends of all shapes and sizes. He can be worried by some unfamiliar dogs and will bark defensively at them when feeling unsure. He walks beautifully on the lead, though he can be strong when he spots a cat! Bear travels well in the car, is housetrained and used to being left alone for up to 3 hours, though he would prefer not to be left on a very regular basis. He’s a really sweet boy, who is easy to fall in love with!

Homing Needs

  • Would prefer to be the only dog, but could live with the right dog (pending intros).
  • May be able to live with kind, sensible, older children.
  • Can be left for up to 3 hours (will need building up gradually in new home).
  • A rural or semi-rural home would be ideal, or access to rural walking areas.
  • A decent sized, secure garden.
  • Needs a couple of hours exercise per day (ideally with access to safe areas for off-lead walks, or a secure field to hire nearby).
