Custard is a 2 year old Saluki x and he’s quite the stunner! Underneath that beautiful body is a lively and clever boy who is a little insecure and is working hard to overcome his frustration issues around people and other dogs. He will need a very experienced and confident home to help him both in and out of the house.
He currently struggles being left alone, and any time left will need to be built up slowly and patiently otherwise he will bark to tell the neighbours you aren’t at home! He is also very reactive to both dogs and people when out walking. He really enjoys his walks, but would need to be walked in a quiet, spacious location where he would only be able to see people and dogs in the distance – therefore a rural home would suit him down to the ground. With dogs he has been carefully introduced to, he is social and playful, but would need to live as an only dog.
Custard loves HIS people and loves to be near them. He’s very affectionate, and will also happily curl up with you for the day, until the mood takes him to tell you it’s playtime – then you know about it! If you’re an early bird, it should be noted Custard does like his lie-in’s!
Custard is seeking a home in a thousand – the apple pie to his Custard! He is currently working with our behaviour team to help him with these issues, and will come with a full training plan, and life time back up for any behaviour advice needed. Therefore, he is looking for someone who will have time, love and patience to follow this plan and help him through his insecurities and vocal frustrated behaviours. If you’re able to take on a project with a dog who is physically strong, mentally one step ahead and always up for a noisy game of tug, then Custard is your boy! This will involve a lot of work, but the rewards for doing so is a truly wonderful dog who will adore you in return!
