We’d like to be Frank, but this boy has already beaten us to it! This beautiful blue greyhound is a really lovely lad, who enjoys human company and is always up for a bit of fuss. His tail only stops wagging when he’s asleep! He loves his food, but will take tasty titbits gently. He really likes his toys and is good at playing catch with a tennis ball. Frank does have a slight problem with his hips, so needs gentle exercise – but he doesn’t let this get him down!
Frank is friendly with the other hounds in kennels, but he does like his own space when his hips are feeling sore. He’d prefer to be the only dog in his new home, but wouldn’t mind some canine walking pals! Frank will need some ongoing training and socialisation with other dog breeds, as he finds them very exciting and can tend to bark and pull towards some dogs on walks. He can make friends with gradual introductions, but would prefer to be walked in areas without too many other dogs around. He could live with teenagers who understand that due to his hip issues, he prefers gentle handling and fuss.
Frank recently had a day out at Kilmersdon with some of our volunteers, where he climbed the hill of Jack and Jill nursery rhyme fame. Luckily he didn’t come tumbling down, but had a very nice walk instead. Out and about in the village, he trotted along happily, looking round with interest at everything.
This big love-bug is is loving and playful, and stunningly handsome. Frankly, we think he’s perfect. Could you offer this gorgeous, friendly boy his forever home?
As per our current homing situation, please only apply to adopt Frank if the following criteria applies to you:
- Experienced sighthound home or willing to follow a strict training plan
- No cats or other small animals in the home (*during this time we are unable to meaningfully assess for cat tolerance*)
- No children under 10 in the home (*as above, this is due to the lack of ability to follow our usual stringent assessments*)
- Live within England and Wales and willing to travel to our kennels in Somerset, Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire.
