About Henry
Gentle giant Henry is a soft and affectionate greyhound looking for a calm and understanding home to call his own. True to his nickname, Henry is a very big boy, but he has an equally big heart, he is gentle, well-mannered, and takes life at a relaxed pace.
Henry has recently spent time in a home environment. He is clean in the house and welcoming to visitors, including polite children. Henry has shown he can be left for short periods (around 30 minutes) but he does get worried when being left for longer . He will need patient adopters who can build this up very gradually over time. Ideally, someone would be around all day initially, giving him the reassurance he needs to settle fully.
Henry is happiest in calm surroundings and enjoys the company of other greyhounds and would love to live with another steady Greyhound. While confident with dogs his own size, he can find smaller breeds a little scary and will need continued support to feel more comfortable around them. As an ex-racer, Henry has a high prey drive and will be best suited to sighthound-savvy homes where walks are kept on-lead.
Henry is ready to find his forever home. He will need patience, kindness, and understanding as he settles back into home life, but in return, he will be a gentle and loving companion, always quietly by your side.
Homing Needs
- Someone who is at home initially and happy to gradually build up to being left for long periods
- Would prefer to live with another Greyhound, or as an only dog in a quiet home with walks that avoid busy areas
- Best suited to calm, patient adopters ideally who are Greyhound savvy
- Will need gentle, slow introductions to car travel and wouldn’t suit a home where he is required to travel regularly
