Jethro is a sweet, gentle 2 year old greyhound boy looking for his forever home. He is a sensitive soul who can be worried about the world in general! Jethro currently finds walks quite overwhelming and will tend to freeze when feeling unsure. As such he’d prefer to just mooch around the garden rather than go out for adventures, at least to start with! He may learn to enjoy his walks in time and with a very gradual introduction, but would not cope with busy walking areas so needs a rural home.
An affectionate and interactive dog, Jethro prefers gentle handling and a calm, quiet environment. For this reason he wouldn’t want to live with children, or in a busy household. Jethro will need plenty of time and space to come out of his shell at his own pace.
Jethro enjoys the company of other dogs, but is equally as happy with human companionship. He likes to walk with his doggie friends but doesn’t really want to play, and gets a little worried when others are running off-lead. He has been social with small dogs as well as larger breeds.
Jethro has been rehomed previously, but came back into our care because he was very unsettled and distressed overnight. Since he wasn’t in the home for long, it’s possible that this behaviour was related to the stress of moving into a new environment and will improve as he settles in to his home. However, it is also very possible that this is a longer term behaviour which will need working on with support from our behaviour team. As such, Jethro’s new family should be prepared for sleepless nights whilst helping him through his worries.
Please get in touch if you can offer Jethro his forever home – how can anyone resist that face?
