Handsome Kipling is a 6 year old ex racing greyhound who is now looking for all the home comforts a forever home would provide him.
This lovely boy is on the larger side for a greyhound, but his confidence doesn’t match his size. He is a sensitive lad, who has been quite quiet and reserved since arriving with us due to his apprehension of new experiences. This may be related to some discomfort from injuries he has suffered in the past.
However, day by day we are starting to see him coming out of his shell. As his confidence is growing, and he is trusting people around him, we are seeing a lovely friendly greyhound emerge! He interacts nicely with the volunteers and kennel staff – enjoying his walks and one-on-one grooming time!
Kipling has shown some good social skills around his four-legged friends, so may benefit from being homed with a medium or larger dog who could provide him with the reassurance he needs. However, he could also be an only dog given the right home.
Kipling really is a lovely boy, who just needs a little love in his life so he can feel happy with the world again. He is looking for a relaxed home, where he will be given time and space to acclimatise. Given these conditions, we anticipate adopting Kipling will be an incredibly rewarding experience. Once he knows that his life will be full of love, happiness and home comforts, we are sure Mr Kipling will make an exceedingly good companion!
As per our current homing situation, please only apply to adopt Kipling if the following criteria applies to you:
- You are an experienced sighthound owner or are willing to follow a training plan designed by our behaviourists, to set you and your dog up for success.
- You don’t have any resident cats or small animals (*during this time we are unable to meaningfully assess for cat tolerance*)
- You live within England and Wales and willing to travel to our kennels in Somerset, Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire.
- You are willing to make several visits to meet a hound before taking them home. Some of our hounds need time to get to know you first.
