About Nessa
Nessa is a gorgeous bull lurcher girl of around 10 months old. She’s currently living in a wonderful foster home, but is now ready to find her forever family! Nessa is a sweet, good natured dog who has been happily sharing her foster home with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. She is generally gentle and respectful of her canine companions – like most puppies, she can sometimes get a little over-enthusiastic when playing and need a time out, but she is learning all the time! Nessa is a real people person, who thrives on human company and is always keen to make new friends. Although she loves children, she finds young kids far too exciting and gets very boisterous around them. Since she loves people so much, Nessa can struggle with spending time on her own – this will need working on gradually in her new home. Before arriving in foster, Nessa had lived a very unsettled life with very little training or guidance. Her foster mum has worked wonders with teaching Nessa to be calm and settled at home, but she can still become over-stimulated easily and doesn’t cope with busy, exciting environments. Nessa’s new family will need to be very consistent and continue her training, so that she is able to maintain her newly-learned good habits as she matures. Nessa walks well on-lead, though she can pull when excited and is already a big, strong girl! She has good recall off-lead in safe areas, and loves to play fetch (though she doesn’t always bring the toy back!). Nessa would really enjoy getting involved in agility or similar dog sports.
Nessa’s Homing Needs
- A calm home environment, along with kind and consistent handling from her adopters
- A rural or semi-rural home, with access to safe areas for off-lead walks
- A secure garden with space to run and play
- No young children/visiting young children, but could live with teenagers
- Could live with an older dog who would be a good influence on her, or as the only pet
- May be able to live with a confident, dog-savvy cat
- Someone around all of the time initially, with potential to build up to short periods alone
- Adopters committed to and interested in proactively continuing her training (and with a sense of humour!)
Nessa is a truly lovely young dog, who will make a brilliant companion for the right family. She’s a real clown and loves making people laugh with her antics! If you’ve got a Nessa-shaped space on your sofa, please get in touch!
