Petal would love to be homed with her best friend Mimi, who she shares a day kennel with, please see Mimi’s profile here: Mimi – Forever Hounds Trust
Petal is a 9-year-old ex racing greyhound, who, despite her age is lively, bright and very active! She came to us through a rescue organisation in Ireland, where it is known that she raced, as well as had two litters of pups.
She enjoys her time off lead in our paddock, and likes nothing more than investigating the sniffs and smells with her best friend Mimi – both girls would would love to continue exploring a secure grassy garden in their new home. She has led a sheltered life in rural Ireland for the majority of her 9 years, and so would like a quiet home with easy access to peaceful walks without too many off lead dogs.
Petal has been very social with all the sighthounds she has met, but is slightly less comfortable in close proximity to other breeds. Like all ex-racers, Petal will have been trained to chase, so care will be needed around fast moving/high pitched dogs, cats and wildlife.
Petal and Mimi would like to be the only dogs in their new home so they can focus their attentions on each other, and their lucky family! Petal is a social lady, but is quite independent and prefers to come to you for fuss in her own time. Because of this, she wouldn’t like to live with younger children, but would be fine with any that visit. Petal and Mimi would also initially like someone to be around for most of the time, with time they are left built up gradually. We hope that once settled, they will be happy with each other for company.
Petal and Mimi are looking for a quiet, cosy home, with plenty of company where they can live a life of comfort, affection and care. They would love to live in a low-pressure environment with adopters who are able to take things slowly and enable a gentle transition. Can you give these gorgeous girls the loving home they deserve?
