If you adopt Remi (or any of our dogs), you will be entitled to receive FREE behavioural support from our qualified team of behaviourists for any issues you might need help with during her lifetime. Further information will be given when homing Remi. Please note, this support is only available for dogs adopted from Forever Hounds Trust.
Beautiful Remi is a sweet 2-year-old greyhound girl, looking for her forever home. Once she gets to know you, Remi is a real sweetheart – but she tends to be very nervous of new people to start with, especially men. Given plenty of space and time to approach at her own pace, Remi doesn’t take long to make new friends. Once she does, she’s really interactive and loves a fuss. She can be very worried about passing people on walks, especially in busier environments or unfamiliar places. For this reason, we’re looking for a rural or semi-rural home where she can go for walks in quiet areas, away from too many people. She needs a quiet home environment, without too much coming and going. She would prefer not to live with children.
Remi gets along brilliantly with other dogs – even small ones! She takes a lot of confidence from the company of other dogs, which really helps her to cope out on walks. We’d prefer to home her with a resident dog, as we feel she’d struggle without that emotional support. She will need to be fed seperately from any resident dogs in the home, as we’re told she didn’t like to share food with others during her time in racing kennels.
Remi walks well on-lead, but can panic and try to run if she gets spooked! She travels well in the car, but wouldn’t cope with lots of trips out and about until she’s built up a lot more confidence! Remi is looking for a home with a secure garden, since she’ll definitely need at least a few days to acclimatise to her new home before venturing out on walks.
Remi is a lovely girl – she just needs an understanding new family to show her that the world isn’t so scary after all. If you think that could be you, please get in touch!
