If you adopt Willow & Spirit (or any of our dogs), you will be entitled to receive FREE behavioural support from our qualified team of behaviourists for any issues you might need help with during their lifetime. Further information will be given when homing Spirit & Willow. Please note, this support is only available for dogs adopted from Forever Hounds Trust.

Willow and Spirit are a devoted pair of greyhounds who have come into our care in very sad circumstances, through no fault of their own. Willow (black) is an eight-year-old male, and his girlfriend Spirit (blue) is almost 10 years old. They really do love each other and get upset when parted, so we’re looking for a home where they can stay together. They’re both very small in stature, and (at their mature age) promise not to be any more work than one normal-sized hound!

Both Spirit and Willow are sweet, affectionate dogs once settled – but both are very much on the timid side in general. They do get along with other dogs (especially other greyhounds) but can be shy around unfamiliar dogs, especially bouncy ones who might run over to them off-lead. They’re not fans of wind or rain, and can be nervous on walks out and about. They would enjoy short walks in quiet areas, or would be equally happy with just a big garden to mooch about and play in!

Given their age and sensitive natures, we feel that they would prefer a quiet home environment, without children. They could potentially share their home with another calm, gentle dog, pending introductions. Willow and Spirit are both house trained, and can be left on their own for a couple of hours at a time. They’re used to being allowed on the sofa for a snooze, and would need this to continue in their new home.

Willow and Spirit have been through a lot of upheaval recently – having got used to home comforts they are not suited to life in kennels, and we’d love to get them back out into a loving retirement home as soon as possible. If you’re interested in this pair of golden oldies, please get in touch!

Please read our latest Covid guidelines before you apply to adopt these lovely hounds.
