If you adopt Swallow (or any of our dogs), you will be entitled to receive FREE behavioural support from our qualified team of behaviourists for any issues you might need help with during her lifetime. Further information will be given when homing Swallow. Please note, this support is only available for dogs adopted from Forever Hounds Trust.

Swallow is a 4 year old ex-racer girl, who is fairly small but has plenty of enthusiasm! She’s a friendly, interactive girl who loves the company of people, but can be very bouncy when excited or worried. For this reason, we would prefer to place her with teenagers or in an adult only home. She loves to run and play, but her inner couch-potato will probably come out once settled in her forever home!

Swallow is very sociable with other sighthounds – she really enjoys going for walks with the other kennel dogs, and spending time off-lead with her friends in our secure paddock. She could share her new home with a similarly sized hound, or would be happy to live as the only pet (as long as she got plenty of human attention!).

Like many ex-racers, Swallow can struggle with encountering other breeds of dog, especially those smaller than her. We have been working on this area with her, and she is improving all the time! Her new family must be willing to continue her gradual socialisation and training, and have access to walking areas without too many other dogs (especially off-lead dogs, who might run over to her). She will need to stay muzzled and on-lead in public, and her adopters must be physically able to manage her if she does get excited.

Swallow is a sweet, funny girl who will bring a smile to your face every day! If you have room for a little Swallow in your nest, please get in touch!
