Buzz

  • Saluki X
  • Can live with children, any age
  • Needs a quiet home
  • Would like the company of another dog or dogs

Loveable lurcher Buzz is only a young boy at just over a year old. Buzz is used to living in a home environment, and is currently enjoying his time in one of our wonderful foster homes. He is a sensitive soul and can be quite nervous of new people and places, but it doesn’t take him long to make friends. Once he gains confidence with a new person he is very affectionate and loving, and really enjoys a game of fetch – he even brings the ball back! Buzz has missed out on some of his socialisation with other dogs, and can be quite nervous of unfamiliar dogs on walks. As such, he will need to be walked in quiet areas without too many other dogs, and where he won’t feel overwhelmed. We are currently working with Buzz to build his confidence in this area, and this will need to be continued once he finds his forever home. He has lived with other sighthounds before, and could do so again after proper introductions. Buzz is brilliant with children of all ages, and has even shared his home with a young baby in the past. He would love to live with children again, as long as they’re happy to play ball with him! Due to some bad experiences in the past, Buzz has a severe fear of going to the vet. This is something that we’re working on whilst Buzz is in our care, and his forever family will receive ongoing help and support from our behaviour team to continue this work. Buzz has been used to being left alone for short periods, and travels well in the car. He is housetrained, and is very well behaved around the house – apart from the odd bout of zoomies of course!
