‘This late autumn Stourhead sighthound walk will be back to our previous route to the obelisk and back again through the gardens, courtyard and walk past the impressive Stourhead House.’
There may be cattle or sheep in the fields adjacent to the path, please keep dogs on a short lead at all times.
This walk takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour and finishes with an optional visit to the dog friendly restaurant/cafe (near the meeting point).
Please see the note below for how to donate online as cash collections are discouraged on National Trust estates.
After the walk we can accept used printer cartridges for recycling. Additionally, for the dogs currently in Forever Hounds Trust care any donated tins of sardines (in oil or water please) or wet dog food will be gratefully accepted
Dog Policy:
All dogs must be on a short lead on this walk at the Stourhead estate at all times. Dog poop bags must be used and there are several bins located around this walking route.
Meeting point:
Outside the visitor reception building. Toilets, dog friendly cafe and shop in the immediate vicinity.
This walk does not require National Trust membership (non-members are required to pay for parking, see information below).
Terrain:
The paths are mostly unsurfaced and paths can be muddy and boggy in wet weather, so sturdy footwear is advisable.
Parking:
National Trust are operating a pay and display car park where car park charges will apply for non-members (£4.50 all day). N.B. Correct at time of posting.
TIME: 11.00am start, meet from 10.45am.
IMPORTANT DONATION COLLECTION NOTICE:
Sadly we will be unable to accept cash donations with our usual collecting tin at this National Trust property. Please can you donate online (details are on the Forever Hounds site) and I will also have details on how to pay a donation this way on the day although mobile phone signal can be limited on the Stourhead estate.
