This Stourhead walk will be similar to the previous route we walked in July.
Starting from our meeting point at the visitor reception building, we will walk through the walled garden and then wander past the palladian style house (a brilliant opportunity for a photograph) through to the Hoare family monument and loop back to the visitor reception building where we started.
There may be cattle in the fields on the route from the house to the Hoare family monument separated from the path with an electric fence. If your dog is cattle reactive or the distance is too far we will pass the house again on the return from the monument for anyone preferring to wait.
This Stourhead walk taking approximately 45 minutes and finishing with an optional visit to the dog friendly restaurant/cafe (near the meeting point).
All dogs must be on a short lead on this walk at the Stourhead estate at all times.
Meeting point: Outside the visitor reception building. Toilets, dog friendly cafe and shop in the immediate vicinity.
This walk does not require National Trust membership (non-members are required to pay for parking, see information below).
Terrain:
The paths are mostly surfaced with gravel or grass. Route is mostly flat and easily accessible Paths can be muddy and boggy in wet weather, so sturdy footwear advisable.
National Trust are operating a pay and display car park where car park charges will apply for non-members (£4.50 all day). N.B. Correct at time of posting.
TIME: 10am start, meet from 9.45am
