The August Bank Holiday weekend will mark the first ever ‘Big Hound Chill Out’, an event that celebrates the dozing hounds at Forever Hounds Trust.
Supporters up and down the country will be chilling out with their hounds to mark the occasion, and showcasing what wonderful pets greyhounds and lurchers make.
Marketing and Communications Manager, Emma Butler explains: “The Big Hound Chill Out is all about busting some myths about greyhounds and lurchers. One such myth is that they need a lot of exercise. That’s certainly not true of all the dogs that come to Forever Hounds Trust. Many are happy with just one or two short walks a day and like to spend the rest of the time snoozing on the sofa.
“Greyhounds are often affectionately known as the ’40 mph couch potatoes’ because of their love of a comfy sofa, and this is something that we will be celebrating this weekend with our chilled out dogs. We encourage anyone thinking about having a dog to consider a greyhound or lurcher from Forever Hounds Trust. Please do come along to one of our events, chill out on our sofa, and see for yourself what wonderful pets these dogs make.”
There are organised chill outs in Hitchin on Saturday and Bath on Sunday (details below). If you are chilling out with your own hound this weekend, please do share any photos you have with us on social media.
