Getting ready for Afternoon Tea!

17/09/2014

Afternoon Tea Party 2014

Forever Hounds Trust are gearing up for their 2014 Afternoon Tea Party on Sunday, 21st September, at the beautiful Buscot Park, Oxfordshire. Hosted by Forever Hounds Trust Honorary Friend Lord Faringdon, the event includes a fun dog show, auction, raffle and of course, lots of tea and cake!

Gates open at midday and the fun dog show kicks off at 12.30, with the following classes – all breeds welcome.

  • Most handsome dog
  • Prettiest bitch
  • Waggiest tail
  • Best veteran (8 years+)
  • Best human and hound fancy dress
  • Dog the judge would most like to take home

Entry is by optional donation at the ringside on the day, with rosettes to 5th place and goodie bags for 1st place winners.

LeJog cyclist Toby Boram will be cycling the Buscot Park drive at 3pm, and his welcome reception will be followed by a special auction of donated items. Lots include dog-friendly breaks in Cornwall and the Brecon Beacons, special dog collars and coats, a statue of whippets and puppies, sighthound artwork by Nellie Doodles, Angie Rooke and Susie Baldock, and signed books by Lucy Dillon, Jilly Cooper and Antony Worall-Thompson.

Find our full list of auction items here– you can place an advance bid by emailing fundraising@foreverhoundstrust.org.

Forever Hounds Trust merchandise and other stands will be open throughout, including sculptures by Mims and Co and behavioural advice from Canine Thinking. Buscot Park’s lovely tea rooms will also be serving lunches, cakes and drinks.

Grand Draw and raffle tickets will be on sale, with an array of fabulous prizes – huge thanks to everyone who has supported the event.

The suggested donation for entry to Buscot Park is £5, payable in advance here or on the gate. This includes entry to Buscot Park’s gardens – but please note that, as per Buscot Park’s normal admissions policy, dogs are only allowed in the Paddock and not other gardens. Dogs are welcome in the marquee, where you will be able to enjoy refreshments, and where the auction and raffle will be held.

We look forward to seeing you there!
