Forever Hounds Trust is thrilled to have been awarded £6,000 by the Feeding Brighter Futures grant scheme towards our project ‘Isolation Kennels for Rescued Hounds with Specific Needs’.
This grant will pay for the purchase, erection and fitting out of two greatly needed isolation kennels at our kennels in Somerset.
The ability to effectively isolate dogs who carry potentially infectious diseases or parasites is of utmost importance to maintaining hygiene in kennels. This facility will provide a quiet and calm environment away from daily kennel activities, allowing us to monitor dogs with specific medical requirements.
They will also provide a safe haven for dogs struggling in the kennel environment. In summary, this purpose-built isolation facility will allow us to ensure that all these aspects of welfare prioritisation are covered, and provide a place to get physically better and protect other dogs from contracting disease, and to rest and recuperate.
