Zeus, a fun loving and affectionate black and white greyhound, is currently being looked after in Tunbridge Wells by volunteers from Forever Hounds Trust, a charity that rescues and finds homes for greyhounds and lurchers.
The charity recently celebrated its 20th birthday, with a party hosted by Honorary Friend of the Trust, the actor Anthony Head.
Zeus was fortunate enough to get his own invitation to the party, and met with the host, who was keen to help find Zeus a home of his own as soon as possible.
Chris Berry, Regional Homing Officer for Forever Hounds Trust, said: “Zeus was such a good boy at the party. He enjoyed meeting people and other greyhounds, took part in the dog show and everyone commented on what a lovely dog he is.”
Zeus is only three years’ old and loves to play with toys. He is house trained and will let you know if he needs to go outside.
Chris adds: “Zeus is well behaved and responsive to commands in the home. He is used to being left alone for a few hours at a time and he settles really well at night. He can be a bit excitable, but is very quick to calm down.”
Greyhounds and lurchers make great pets. Contrary to popular belief, greyhounds really don’t need that much exercise. Just a 20 minute walk twice a day is plenty, as greyhounds are great sofa snugglers and like to spend a lot of time snoozing!
Zeus, along with many other greyhounds and lurchers in the care of Forever Hounds Trust, is in desperate need of a home he can call his own. Each dog homed frees up a space to rescue another, so by offering a home to one of these special dogs you will actually be helping two.
If you could offer Zeus, or another greyhound or lurcher, a home, please get in touch with Forever Hounds Trust (formerly GRWE, Greyhound Rescue West of England) on 03000 111 100 or email enquiries@foreverhoundstrust.org.
