Mel and Freddy are a pair of greyhounds searching for a new home after meeting in the kennels of rescue charity Forever Hounds Trust and immediately falling in love.
Volunteers at Forever Hounds Trust realised that Mel and Freddy, who both came to the rescue individually, were getting on very well and seemed to grow in confidence when they were in each other’s company. They were soon sharing toys and treats and got on so well that they were given a larger kennel so that they could be together permanently.
It has worked so well that Mel and Freddy are now looking for a forever home together, where they can be with each other for the rest of their lives.
Lisa Webb, volunteer at Forever Hounds Trust, says: “Mel and Freddy are a wonderful pair of dogs and they are so happy together that we don’t want to separate them. Freddy is the quieter of the two but his confidence grows when he is with his friend Mel. He loves a game of tug or to play with a squeaky toy, and Mel is happy to play with him. Mel also likes to chill out, and Freddy is happy to lie alongside her and relax.”
As these gorgeous greyhounds are happy in each other’s company, they can be left for periods of time on their own, which may make it easier for a new owner. Both dogs are happy and enjoy interacting with humans as well as playing together, and they will clearly make wonderful pets for someone.
Lisa adds: “Whoever offers their home and heart to these lovely hounds will be in for a real treat. They are going to make amazing pets and will bring joy to the home they go into.”
The dogs are currently being looked after by Forever Hounds Trust near Nantwich, and the charity is appealing for someone to come forward and offer a home to the loved-up pair.
While volunteers at the charity do everything they can for all the dogs they look after, the best place for the dogs to be is in a home of their own. If you can offer a home to Mel and Freddy, or to another dog like them, please do get in touch with Forever Hounds Trust on 03000 111 100 or email enquiries@foreverhoundstrust.org.
