Our CEO and Chair of Trustees attended the the Launch of the League Against Cruel Sports report on ‘The state of greyhound racing in Great Britain’ at the House of Commons on 28 October 2014.
Our own Honorary Friend Annette Crosbie OBE, spoke passionately about her experience of homing ex racing greyhounds and the pleasure of seeing an ex racer grow in confidence and settle into a loving retirement home.
It was a privilege to be with so many other welfare charities who are all focused on protecting racing dogs and on greyhound welfare.
As an organisation committed to the welfare of racing greyhounds and those that retire from the track, we are supportive of initiatives that seek positive change in relation to welfare standards and welcome the opportunities that may come with the 2015 regulation review. Forever Hounds Trust hope that this review will provide the opportunity and impetus to facilitate the much needed change to protect greyhounds from ‘cradle to grave’, ensuring that ex racing greyhounds can make the transition from racing to a loving retirement that suits their individual needs.
