Forever Hounds Trust will be opening its first charity shop, in Haywards Heath, West Sussex in the next few months. We are looking for a Manager and an Assistant Manager to make sure the shop runs smoothly, makes as much money as possible for the hounds and generates interest in the charity. Volunteers will, as always, have a key role to play and we’ll be asking for people with specific skills and interests in the next few weeks. However, it is important also to have staff with set working hours to ensure the shop is open six days a week to be profitable.
Both jobs will suit someone with experience in retail (ideally in a charity shop), with creative flair and the ability to work on their own initiative, whilst understanding the need to monitor and report details of income and expenditure on a regular basis. Managing a wide range of volunteers will also be an important part of the job, as will ensuring a great experience for our customers.
Hours and salaries are as follows:
Shop Manager: £12012pa (£8.25 per hour) for a 28 hour week
Assistant Manager: £6597pa (£7.25 per hour) for a 17.5 hour week
The shop will be open every day except Sunday, so it will be necessary for a rota of hours to be agreed to ensure that at least one of the staff is present at all times.
