Forever Hounds Trust (Forever Hounds Trust) is deeply concerned about reports that a further 24 greyhounds are due for transport to Macau this evening. Their journey from Ireland saw them overnight in the UK but will end in certain death at the infamous Macau, Yat Yuen Canidrome, which has a deplorable welfare record.
As the second reported case in less than a month, we are increasingly worried that Ireland is replacing Australia as a regular source for replenishing Macau’s stock of racing greyhounds. We join our colleagues at Greyhound Rescue Association Ireland (GRAI), Dogs Trust Ireland, ISPCA and The Irish Blue Cross, in urging the IGB, The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and airline carriers to put an end to this deplorable trade in misery.
