Description

Please note that this greyhound/lurcher winter coat is being discontinued so we will not be restocking any out of stock sizes.  Keep an eye out for our new range of winter waterproof coats coming soon!

Protect your greyhound or lurcher from winter’s chill with our greyhound/lurcher winter coat — designed to keep sighthounds warm, dry, and comfortable on even the frostiest walks. This coat features a fold-back collar, extended neck cover, and a generous length to suit the unique shape of greyhounds and lurchers

How to Measure Your Dog

  1. Measure from the top of the shoulder to the base of the tail (spine length)

  2. Do not measure from the collar or down the tail — this will result in an oversized fit

  3. The fold-back collar extends the overall coat length — always order by spine measurement

Measurement Guide

Coat Length Guide (Including Neck Cover)

  • 30” spine = 39” total length

  • 28” spine = 37” total length

  • 26” spine = 34” total length

  • 24” spine = 31” total length

  • 23” spine = 30” total length

  • 22” spine = 29” total length

  • 21” spine = 28” total length

  • 19” spine = 26” total length

  • 17” spine = 24” total length

  • 15” spine = 21” total length

Important Notes

  • No harness hole

  • For pure-bred whippets with highly arched backs, see our Whippet Blizzard Coat

Not a good fit, had to return

I bought two Blizzard coat in 1993 for our original rescue sighthound and Whippet and the coats are still going strong in 2025!
They are good against driving rain and keep the dog’s back dry. I bought a new one to fit a smaller Whippet and it appears to be just as well made as the 1990’s ones.
They are made to fit dogs with a curve to their back , and getting the correct fit is ideal, although my Whippet still does wear the larger 1990’s ones as a top layer over fleece jumpers.
They are a really good make, and machine wash well.
Pictured is the 33 year old Blizzard coat over layers to show how well they wear.

Swift delivery at sale price, of my favourite autumn/winter Blizzard coat for my saluki (have tried out other brands over the years, and always been dissatisfied!); ordered for the future; so sad FHT will no longer carry them.

My dogs have many coats between them but I have two Blizzard coats from over 15 years ago which have passed down through various dogs and still going for day to day around the farm use so I thought a new one for Scally my new boy would be a good move being much bigger than the girls.
