Forever Hounds Trust is in mourning for one of our devoted volunteers, and desperately searching for a new home for her two beloved greyhounds.
Six-year-olds Mr Darcy, a black male greyhound and fawn companion Molly, had been happily cared for by their owner in Cambridgeshire until her sudden death last month. Their owner had been an active volunteer for Forever Hounds Trust for many years, and the charity immediately agreed to take care of her much loved dogs until a new forever home could be found for them.
Both dogs are fit and happy, despite a few medical needs as a result of previous conditions, which Forever Hounds Trust are able to help with. Currently being cared for near Hitchin, Mr Darcy is a happy, chilled and confident hound. Molly is a little more nervous and is at her happiest when she is with her friend, which is why the charity is keen to home them together.
Director of Homing for Forever Hounds Trust, Emily Burns-Sweeney, said: “All the staff and volunteers at Forever Hounds Trust were hugely saddened to learn of the death of Mr Darcy and Molly’s owner. Her dogs were a huge part of her life and we are determined to find them a wonderful home where they will be loved and cared for. The dogs themselves are wonderful and a delight to be with. Whoever comes forward to offer a home to this gorgeous pair will be sure to have two superb companion animals.”
Volunteers at Forever Hounds Trust have been quick to fall in love with Mr Darcy and Molly. Emily adds: “These dogs really deserve another loving home. The sudden and unexpected loss of their previous owner was a tragedy and these two special hounds need to find themselves in another happy household as soon as possible.
“Greyhounds make wonderful pets, and we urge anyone thinking of getting a dog to get in touch with us as we have many greyhounds and lurchers looking for a home and will match you with the best dog for your family.”
