Gorgeous Gwen was adopted four years ago, and we were delighted to receive this update on how she is getting on from her lovely family.
The story so far…
When we lost our lurcher Blackie we were devastated, but a friend told us of Forever Hounds Trust who thought Gwen might be right for us. Once we met Gwen we knew she had to come back with us to the Isle of Wight, and she did so well with the car and ferry journey home.
It’s been a massive learning curve for us all but Gwen has us trained now with every whim and fancy catered for. In the first year we saw her real character develop as she settled in. The second year was not so great as she was constantly really ill with a mystery illness, living at the vets and nearly not pulling through a few times.
Touch wood we’ve had the last 2 years illness free and Gwen, now 7 years old, is still full of beans and living her best life. She has wonderful walks on the beach, in the woods and through the island’s countryside, not to mention regular trips to Cornwall.
We wouldn’t be without her, she is as mad as a box of frogs, obsessed with stealing shoes, stubborn, wilful and likes digging holes in the lawn. However her affection and love is never ending, a very special beautiful hound.
