Rory, a 5 year old lurcher came to Forever Hounds Trust from Ireland where it was apparent he had lived a very hard life, before being saved by an Irish rescue. When he first arrived, his previous experience was evident in his behaviour – he was scared, withdrawn, nervous of people, and had absolutely no idea what would happen to him next.
After weeks of work with our behaviourist and volunteers, this little hound started to realise that life wasn’t so scary, that people weren’t out to hurt him, and a fun-loving and affectionate little personality begin to emerge. He was now ready for homing, but a special family was needed to ensure Rory continued to gain confidence.
He was matched to family who came to visit, and it went well. It was agreed his new family would come back and take him home a few days later – see Rory’s reaction to that news below…..
Rory has now gone home to start his new life with his lovely new family which includes gorgeous new sister called Bonnie, another lurcher. It’s fair to saw he has settled in well, as can be seen in this lovely photo below!
Now, this really is a happy homing story – be happy Rory!
