Like many other charities and rescues we are facing a perfect storm because of the economic environment and increased pressure on our ability to rehome dogs. We’ve been looking at how we navigate these challenging times and have made the difficult decision to move operations away from our Centre in Devon. For now, we will focus our rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming efforts in one location, at our rented spaces near Bath, where we have had a presence for many years.
What this achieves for Forever Hounds Trust and our hounds is certainty for our near future. It helps us manage operating costs and gives us time to navigate this difficult economic period.
Our immediate focus is on supporting our hardworking staff and volunteers at the Centre and finding homes for the dogs there and in the rented space. Rest assured, we will continue to apply our high standards of homing and welfare to ensure that the dogs in our care have the opportunity of a bright and happy future. Meanwhile, we will be working to continue our rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming using our expertise and care.
Whilst this news might come as something of a surprise, it is important that the Trustees recognise the need to be flexible and safeguard the future of the charity by responding accordingly. This is a difficult time for so many people, and none more so than animal welfare charities. We will keep you informed of progress on the changes and thank you for your continued support for our work. It is needed more now than ever.
