Belle Vue greyhound racing stadium closes!

In a massive win for greyhound welfare, Manchester’s famous Belle Vue greyhound racing stadium will close permanently after a consultation found there was no business case for it to remain open.

The stadium, which opened in 1926 , is set to be demolished to make way for almost 250 homes.

Forever Hounds Trust’s Head of Welfare Campaigns, Emma Butler, said: “Greyhounds will no longer risk injury and death while racing at Belle Vue. Greyhound racing is outdated and cruel and has no place in modern society. ”
