About Jakey

Jakey is a happy 7 year old lurcher boy, looking for his forever home. Jakey came into our care because his owner was sadly unable to care for him anymore, and he would love to get out of kennels and back to his home comforts as soon as possible! He is used to home life, is housetrained and can be left alone for short periods (this will need a gradual build up, as he can initially be dependent on human company). Jakey loves people and is very affectionate – though he can be quite enthusiastic when greeting people! He is friendly with dogs and is always keen to say hello, though again he can be a bit too enthusiastic for some dogs. Jakey loves his walks – he still an active boy and doesn’t act his age! He travels well in the car and enjoys going for trips out and about. He generally walks well on the lead, but will pull when he wants to sniff something or meet another dog, and can be strong when he does this.

Homing Needs

  • Needs someone home most of the time initially, but has potential to build up to a few hours alone.
  • Could live with older children, pending introductions.
  • Could live with another dog (pending introductions) but is used to being the only pet.
