Save lives this winter
The long cold nights are here and we need your help to get us through the winter. These months always bring many challenges to us but this year it is more difficult than ever. At a time when our daily costs are increasing drastically, we are also receiving more pleas to help abandoned dogs like Dasher here.
Like you, we want to make sure we are still able to rescue helpless sighthounds that need us at their most vulnerable time.
Dasher was abandoned at just fourteen weeks old, along with her brother who was in very poor condition. Confused, all alone and thrown away like rubbish they were scooped up and rushed to the vets. Whilst Dasher showed signs of improvement, her brother was far too poorly and sadly didn’t make it.
We care for hundreds of greyhounds and lurchers each year who need urgent medical attention, which costs the charity thousands of pounds. These costs are usually unexpected but worth every penny to make sure we can give puppies like Dasher the life she deserves. Often the rescue dogs arrive terrified. Our team make sure they have a safe space, a cosy bed and a comforting meal. We spend a huge amount of time rebuilding their confidence after any trauma they have been through and slowly gaining their trust.
We are so glad we can be there for puppies like Dasher. We were able to find her a foster home where she can now begin to have the start in life she deserves. She has coped amazingly considering her start in life and what could have been. She is displaying natural behaviours and her playful personality is starting to shine through.
We cannot do this without your help.
Your donation will enable us to provide enrichment, a place to rest and as many snuggles as they like. You can help give rescue dogs hope again.
Get us through the winter with a donation today.
Thank you
We have a wonderful update about Dasher for you
After some time in the care of her foster family, Dasher has now been rehomed by them. Understandably they fell in love with her personality and playful ways! She now goes by the name of Olive and has settled into her new life.
Her new family sent us some images recently and explained that she loves being out in the garden and is VERY playful! She is continuing her training and taking it all in her stride. Olive’s confidence is really starting to shine through, so much so that when she met the two adult hounds in the home she had no fear and is now apparently the boss.
Thanks to your donations, Olive is now able to spend Christmas in her new home surrounded by people that love her. We are so grateful for your continued kindness and no matter how much donated it all makes such a difference.
All money raised will go towards the care and welfare of rescue dogs at Forever Hounds Trust.
