As many of you will have seen from our post yesterday, our beloved blogger Monty has sadly passed away so we wanted to say a few words about what he meant to us here at Forever Hounds Trust.
Monty started his blog (with a little help from our team) when he first arrived into the UK after escaping the notorious canidrome in China. He chronicled his challenges with his health, and shared his rehabilitation with the world. He quickly gained a faithful following of fans, keen to hear his latest updates.
It was happy news indeed when he was adopted by a lovely couple, and went home to live a life he could only ever have dreamed of. Fortunately, Monty was keen to continue his blog, now brilliantly aided by his mum, and kept his followers captivated with how he was adjusting to life as a much loved family member.
Thanks to Monty and his mum, Forever Hounds Trust became known more than ever. Many people who had never heard of us were coming across his blog, and we’ve even had people say they adopted greyhounds just because of the impact he had on them. This is hugely powerful, Monty wasn’t just an ambassador for Forever Hounds Trust, he was an ambassador for greyhounds. He ensured many hounds like him went on to have a second chance at life.
Monty was widely loved by everyone at Forever Hounds Trust, from those who welcomed him on his arrival in the UK, to those that looked after him in kennels, to those who met him at events. A real gentle giant with a lovely unassuming nature, and, of course, the most wonderful ears! He really did charm every single person he met.
Monty’s passing leaves a huge hole in the Forever Hounds Trust family, but his legacy will live on in all the hounds he has helped with his blog. His memory lives on in our hearts.
This just leaves us to say a huge thank you to his lovely mum who relayed his stories so brilliantly. Our sincerest condolences her and her family for the loss of their very special boy.
Rest in peace dear Monty Moo. ❤️🌈
