Lovely Hebe (was Scampi) recently celebrated her very first Gotcha Day, and we were delighted to receive this update on how she’s getting on.
It’s a year on from when we adopted the wonderful dog you called Scampi and we renamed Hebe. From being a dog that had probably never lived in a home or had a family, she has learnt all about cuddles, how to take up all of a large sofa, and what it is to have a best boy dog friend who looks out for you as you look out for him.
It has not all been easy – Hebe had a tumour removed in January and took three months to recover, but right through she did not let it stop her being the dog she is: always delighted to see you and pleasantly surprised that every day brings good things to do and eat.
We are all very grateful to have her as part of our family, and she has contributed so much to our happiness over the last year – what else can I say?
Knowing that our efforts change not only the dogs life for the better, but also the lives of their new family too, makes it all incredibly worthwhile.
