We absolutely love getting updates on how our adopted hounds are getting on, so we were delighted to hear from Theo’s family recently. Sometimes a dog has a longer than usual wait in kennels, but as you can see from this story, it’s often meant to be!
Theo’s lovely mum picks up the story…
This is 7 year old Theo, a Forever Hounds Trust hound who has lived with us for nearly 4 years.
Having raced in Ireland and been injured, Theo was lucky to be taken in by a Rescue, where he spent 6 months. He then moved to FHT, where he spent another 6 months, hoping that he would be adopted and start a new life.
There was a lot of uncertainty back in 2020, when as we know, Lockdown meant everything was different. Theo waited and watched while other hounds left with their new families. His turn came on 31st October when, on a day of absolutely atrocious rain, we made the trip. Having passed all the checks, we met Theo and of course, we took him home.
Theo is the most beautiful boy. Good with all other dogs, good off-lead in safe places, clever and playful. He’s been on his first holiday and helped at an FHT collection. Without question, it was our luck that Theo waited for us. We are so glad.
