We absolutely love hearing how our hounds are getting on, so were delighted to receive this update on gorgeous Twiglet three years after she was adopted!
This photo is why I drove two hours to see Twiglet. A week later she had a new family. Having a hound is very special, they are quirky, funny, sassy, and dippy mixed up in a bag of fun.
She really turns heads with her beautiful markings! She’s full-on in the secure field, playfully annoying her sisters – running at them at full speed and trying to mouth them.
She loves water too! She’ll jump into buckets, the dog pool, or anything shallow, helping her siblings out – so much for lurchers hating water! (She’s not a fan of deep water, though.)
She wakes up every morning at 6:30am for food and demands it again at 4pm! Initially, we couldn’t leave her near the dog food bin in the conservatory – even a minute away and she’d chew open the lid or pull the tub down to eat as much as she could. It probably took six months to a year for her to realise she was getting regular meals.
She had a thing for shoes, too – she’d take them and lie down with them! She’s such a crazy, loving pup. My daughter has taught her to sit, give paw, speak, and whisper – it’s so sweet.
She’s a handful on walks as she wants to greet every dog she meets – but hey, nobody’s perfect!
