Walk 30 miles in June. One mile for every year Forever Hounds Trust has been giving hounds a second chance.

For 30 years, Forever Hounds Trust has been giving sighthounds a second chance. Dogs that came off racetracks. Dogs that were abandoned. Dogs that arrived frightened, thin, and unsure what a home even felt like. Thousands of them, one at a time, transformed by patient care into loved family companions.
This June, we’re asking you to walk with us. Thirty miles across the whole of June – one mile for every year we’ve been doing this work. Walk to the shops. Walk the dog. Walk at your own pace, in your own time, wherever you are in the country. Every step is a tribute to 30 years of second chances.

You can help hounds like beautiful Baby

Baby is just five years old – but she’s already lived a lifetime on the racing track.
Until just two days before she arrived with us, she was still racing. Pushed to perform again and again, she ran 83 races in total – her small frame carrying the weight of a demanding life.
When Baby came into our care, the impact of those years was clear. She was underweight, her coat thinning and patchy, her body struggling after prolonged use of hormone suppressants. Even something as simple as eating was difficult – she was in urgent need of dental treatment.
But everything has changed now.
Her story is no longer about racing – it’s about healing.
For the first time in her life, Baby is being given the chance to rest, recover, and feel safe. She’s receiving the veterinary care she needs, along with the patience, comfort, and kindness she’s been missing for so long.
