If you adopt King (or any of our dogs), you will be entitled to receive FREE behavioural support from our qualified team of behaviourists for any issues you might need help with during their lifetime. Further information will be given when homing King. Please note, this support is only available for dogs adopted from Forever Hounds Trust.
King is a big, handsome 3 year old greyhound boy who is looking for a forever home. He’s a bouncy, friendly boy, who does have a sensitive side – he can be a little unsure in new places and with new people at first, but soon gains confidence if allowed time to take everything in. King loves fuss and attention, and is generally gentle although he can jump up at times. We think he may be able to live with older children, pending introductions.
King loves his food and enjoys playing with toys. He walks well on-lead for the most part, but he’s also very large and is strong when he wants to be, so will need an adopter who is physically able to manage him. He travels well in the van.
King has met a variety of different dogs and has been very sociable with most of them, including smaller breed dogs. He isn’t comfortable at all with other large breed males – though he doesn’t actively look for confrontation, he will generally react negatively if approached by a similarly-sized male dog. He will also stand up for himself if he feels threatened by another dog – for example if barked at first. For this reason, he would prefer not to be walked in areas where other dogs are likely to be off-lead, and will need to remain muzzled in public. He would be best suited as the only dog for now, but may be able to share with a female hound in the future.
