About Smidge
Smidge is a loveable lurcher boy, looking for a new home due to a change in circumstances. Six-year-old Smidge is extremely friendly with people and really enjoys the company of other dogs, although he can be a bit over-enthusiastic about meeting them! He’s currently sharing his home with a small lurcher girl – they get along well together (she’s definitely the boss) but he would also be happy as the only pet.
Smidge is a real couch potato at home, spending most of his time snoozing on the sofa. He’s housetrained, crate-trained (although he really doesn’t need to be shut away) and happy to spend time on his own. He also travels well in the car!
Smidge loves his walks and does tend to pull on the lead – especially when he’s excited to go out, or if he wants to make friends with another dog! He would benefit from some training in this area. Since he is a big, strong dog, his adopters will need to be physically fit and able to manage an excited Smidge. He can be let off-lead in rural areas, but his recall goes out the window if he spots a potential new playmate! Smidge is currently living with young children and is very good with them, but his mum feels that he was happier when he had a bit more peace and quiet – so a home with older children would suit him better.
Smidge’s Homing Needs
- Could live with children 10+ (would be fine with visiting kids of any age)
- Could live with a resident dog, or as the only pet
- Needs a physically fit, strong adopter
- Can be left alone for reasonable periods during the day
- Must have access to a sofa!
- Would prefer a rural or semi-rural home.
