It’s International Animal Rights Day, an annual event honouring animals as sentient beings who deserve the same protections as people. In fact, it’s International Human Rights Day too – deliberately coinciding to highlight the connection between animal and human rights.
Forever Hounds Trust is passionate about animal rights, specifically that of greyhounds and lurchers, and we work hard to achieve a better world for sighthounds. You can read about how we do this in our strategy here, and our guide here.
Our vision is a day when every greyhound and lurcher is free from risk or need, and for that to happen, animal rights need to be improved, as sadly, we know all too well how greyhounds and lurchers can be exploited. 😢
