Sometimes when we have long-stayers in our care, we wonder what it will take for these dogs to find a home. Both Connor and Marquee were such dogs, adored by the kennel teams looking after them, but struggled to attract any attention from a potential adopters despite all our best efforts. However, sometimes the wait is worth it……
Connor
Connor, who had arrived into our care at just two years old, has now found his forever home at six years old! He may be a bit older and greyer, but boy….is he happier!
Connor has some behavioural issues that made it more challenging to find him a home, but, all he needed was patient adopters who would understand him and work with our behavioural team to help him adapt to home life.
We did various appeals on our social media channels to show people what a lovely dog he really was – even having a whole day dedicated to him designated ‘Connor Day‘ where we showed the real Connor, and what he got up to on a daily basis. However, even though he had thousands of well-wishers, sadly he had to wait a bit longer.
But now, the wait is over, and after carefully matching him to his wonderful new family, he is home forever. He’s feeling pretty relaxed about it too!
Marquee
Like Connor, Marquee had been waiting an awfully long time, but just like buses, two home offers for our longest stayers came along at the same time! They both went home (separately!)…..on the same day!
We are delighted for Marquee, after a false start in a home that didn’t work out for him, and a long stay in kennels, he has now finally found his forever home with a lovely new mum and dad! Just look at the happiness and pride on his face as he is homeward bound!
His new family say that they are absolutely over the moon with him! He’s settling in very well and they love him to bits!
A huge thank you to both Connor and Marquee’s new families who has made these two deserving dogs dreams come true. We really couldn’t be happier for them all.
