There were smiles all round this week – and an emotional tear or two – as our lovely Marrick headed off to his forever home.
Marrick came to Forever Hounds Trust in the summer with a horrible racing injury. Marrick’s had a very complicated fractured leg, and we were very worried that he would have to have an amputation.
Luckily for Marrick a very experienced vet was able to repair the break and save Marrick’s leg.
There was quite a lengthy recovery for Marrick and he needed special physiotherapy to help him regain full use of his leg. We are so grateful to his wonderful foster family who cared so well for Marrick throughout his recovery and helped to prepare him for his life in a new home.
Marrick has found a wonderful forever home, with a family that includes rescued lurcher Diesel, who has quickly become Marrick’s new canine pal!
A huge thanks must go to everyone who has supported Forever Hounds Trust to enable us to be there for dogs like Marrick. Marrick was lucky to escape the greyhound racing industry with his life, and thanks to the generosity of our supporters we were able to be there to ensure he received the veterinary care and rehabilitation he needed. Marrick can now go on to live the life he deserves – as a much-loved pet.
