Lucas came to Forever Hounds Trust just over a week ago after being found straying. This poor dog was in a terrible condition and for a while it was touch and go over whether he would even survive the journey to us.
Lucas is almost 12 years old and a former racing greyhound. We don’t know how he came to be a stray but it is clearly some time since he was cared for. He was unsteady on his feet, had very bad mange and a horrible worm infestation.
This lovely, gentle boy is now being loved and cared for in a foster home where he is doing well. Despite having a mouth full of rotting teeth, he has managed to enjoy his meals and even crunch up the odd bonio!
With the coronavirus prevention measures in place we have had to close our charity shop and cancel our fundraising events.
But we still need to find the money to provide Lucas and others like him with the medication and veterinary care they need.
