Many of the foods we love to eat during the festive season are poisonous to dogs. Chocolate, raisins, grapes, macadamia nuts, nutmeg, onions and alcohol are all toxic to our four-legged companions so make sure the Christmas pudding and the boxes of chocolate are well out of their reach. Poinsettia, holly, mistletoe, hyacinths, yew and ivy are also poisonous. Keep your vet’s number to hand just in case and contact them immediately if you think your dog has eaten something he shouldn’t or he shows any signs of poisoning.
