We are devastated to bring you the news that one of our very special sponsor dogs has made his final journey over the rainbow bridge. Benji had the most adventurous life – he suffered cruelty, abuse and neglect from his first owner, before escaping into the wilds of Dorset where he survived an amazing 57 weeks on the run evading capture.
From a dog absolutely terrified of life and humans when he first came into our care, he slowly transformed over 9.5 years into a dog full of love and cheekiness thanks to the loving care of his family, and the support of all his wonderful sponsors. During this time, he had many amazing days out and holidays which he enjoyed so much.
The family who we entrusted this special hound to say:
“He has been the most amazing, stubborn, funny boy we could have wished for. Our lives will be so much poorer without him. Thank you so much to all of his amazing and wonderful sponsors, you have all made his life so much better and given him the best life he could have had. I know Benji will forever be grateful to you all”
