We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our sponsor dogs, Bambi.
Greyhound Bambi was found abandoned, tied to a fence after a race meeting in Wales. He suffered the most extreme anxieties we have ever seen and has had a number of medical issues relating to this. With a very uncertain future, we placed him in a Forever Hounds Trust home to see how he would cope. After a period of settling in and sorting his medication, it became apparent that as long as his environment didn’t change and his daily schedule was followed Bambi could be relaxed and hence, deserved the chance of life. However, his medical bills continued.
As you can imagine, it’s a huge ask for any family to home a dog like this; not only the regimented routine, but also the financial commitment in respect of his medication, which could be just too much to bear. However, as Bambi had proven to us that he deserved a chance, he became a supported dog, and his wonderful sponsors supported him over the years. Thanks to them, Bambi has lived a long and fulfilled life, sadly passing away as a grey-faced gent at the grand old age of 14 years.
A huge thank you to all his wonderful sponsors that gave him the chance, and his family for being such wonderful custodians of this special boy for many years. Our sincerest condolences to them.
Sleep tight Bambi 💔🌈
