Description

115 MEDIUM BOX MUZZLE

This durable box muzzle is a slightly smaller version of the 101 Greyhound Box Muzzle. It offers a secure, breathable fit with a soft leather nose trim. Allows panting, drinking, and taking treats. All profits support sighthounds in need. It is recommended for smaller greyhounds but can also fit medium sized lurchers and large whippets. Can also fit other medium sized breeds with long muzzles, such as collies.

Size Guidelines (we recommend checking our measuring guide for detailed instructions before ordering – please note, this muzzle has replaced the 107 medium basket muzzle and we are in the process of updating our muzzle fitting guide.  In the meantime, you can use the measurements given below):

To fit head lengths of approximately 21cm or longer – measure the length of the head in a straight line from behind the ear, to the tip of the nose.

Circumference 31cm – hold a loop of tape at 31cm over the end of the dog’s nose, to check that they will be able to open their mouth fully and pant properly (larger dogs can need up to 15cm panting space, but this varies between dogs).

For non-sighthound breeds:

The basket section is 8cm, fitting a minimum snout length of around 4cm (measure the length of the snout in a straight line from below the dog’s eyes, to the tip of their nose).

Muzzle width is 7cm at the nose end and the eye end of the basket (measure across the top of the snout for nose width).

To fit a neck size of up to around 40cm maximum (measure around the neck at the base of the ears).

Remember that since each individual dog is shaped slightly differently, measuring correctly for a muzzle does not always guarantee the right fit.

Muzzle dimensions (NOT dimensions of dog for fitting!):

Length 22.5cm / Circumference 31cm / Basket length 8cm.

If your dog has not worn a muzzle before we recommend that you visit our Muzzle Introduction Guide for expert tips on how to gently and positively introduce your dog to wearing a muzzle

Really good product. Suitable for other breeds not just hounds. It was great on our old Saluki and now on our young mouthy Border collie.
