At the beginning of 2020, we ran an emergency appeal on our Facebook Page for Ballad, who was rushed to the out of hours vets with what turned out to be a severe case of bacterial cellulitis.
Months of nursing and care followed, until it was sadly discovered the leg couldn’t be saved, and so he had to have it amputated.
From the moment he was initially rushed to the vets, to this very day, one lady has looked after him….his lovely foster mum Jacqui. This wasn’t your average foster dog – multiple visits to the vets, tending the wounds, heartbreak at losing his leg, further rehabilitation – it was truly an emotional rollercoaster ride, but one she tackled with love and dedication.
So, was it any surprise that she decided he was too precious to let go and signed on the dotted line to welcome Ballad into her family…forever?! We would say ‘welcome to the failed foster club’, but she has one or two more like Ballad at home, so she’s more like a founder member!
A huge thank you to Jacqui, and every single one of you who donated towards Ballad’s treatment – you have got him where he is today…living the best life!
